Our commitment
Apex Pest Control Ltd wants this reference subdomain to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML5 structure with clear header, navigation, main and footer landmarks
- One main heading per page and a logical heading order
- A “skip to main content” link and full keyboard operability with visible focus states
- Colour contrast chosen to meet AA, and descriptive text alternatives for images
- A responsive, mobile-friendly layout
- Markup validated to zero errors with the Nu HTML Checker
Interactive maps
The interactive maps (Google Maps embeds on the location pages, and the Leaflet / CARTO coverage map on the homepage) can be difficult to use with some assistive technologies. To make sure no information is locked inside the maps, the same underlying data — area names, coordinates, administrative context and external references — is available as text on every location page and is consolidated on the Entity Map and the Sitemap.
